Master of Camouflage, Native Bird or Branch?
The Tawny Frogmouth or Podargus Strigoides is nocturnal. This may account for the surly look in this first of two images I captured. It kept a watchful eye or two on me as I pointed the camera in its direction. Taken while we were camping at Toorbul, Queensland in 2017. We had sat down to lunch with the kids at a picnic table in the caravan park and didn’t notice him at first. A master of camouflage, he was doing a great impression of a branch in a tree which was my other shot.

When I first bought this puzzle, I wasn’t sure how I would go with it. I love the image, but I wasn’t sure how I would find puzzling the trees and bird. Well, I needn’t have worried! This was a puzzle that I completed over a couple of nights and enjoyed every moment of it!! The Tawny Frogmouth is definitely giving a hard stare, but these birds are so interesting to look at. Their feathers have such interesting patterns and the way that they manage to blend in with the trees that they sit on or build nests is just amazing. If you like birds and/or nature puzzles, I would definitely recommend trying this one.
