Tawny Frogmouth Round Jigsaw Puzzle

(1 customer review)

Our Tawny Frogmouth round bird jigsaw puzzle showcases this unique and intriguing native bird.  With its large, wide mouth, mottled brown plumage, and piercing yellow eyes, the Tawny Frogmouth has a remarkable ability to blend seamlessly into its surroundings.  Another one of our Australian feathered friends, it keeps a watchful eye on the photographer with those eyes.  This lovely 500 piece round puzzle is truly a beautiful experience as you piece it together.

One of our bird jigsaw puzzles, the Tawny Frogmouth is sure to be enjoyable.  Piece it back together with friends and family or by yourself.  This round jigsaw also features unique shaped pieces.  So, with no two pieces the same, there are no false fits.  If you like this Aussie bush regular, check out the rest of our animals / Australian wildlife range or our bird puzzle bundle.

Master of Camouflage, Native Bird or Branch?

The Tawny Frogmouth or Podargus Strigoides is nocturnal.  This may account for the surly look in this first of two images I captured.  It kept a watchful eye or two on me as I pointed the camera in its direction.  Taken while we were camping at Toorbul, Queensland in 2017.  We had sat down to lunch with the kids at a picnic table in the caravan park and didn’t notice him at first.  A master of camouflage, he was doing a great impression of a branch in a tree which was my other shot.

When I first bought this puzzle, I wasn’t sure how I would go with it. I love the image, but I wasn’t sure how I would find puzzling the trees and bird. Well, I needn’t have worried! This was a puzzle that I completed over a couple of nights and enjoyed every moment of it!! The Tawny Frogmouth is definitely giving a hard stare, but these birds are so interesting to look at. Their feathers have such interesting patterns and the way that they manage to blend in with the trees that they sit on or build nests is just amazing. If you like birds and/or nature puzzles, I would definitely recommend trying this one.
